Colombian visas, filed once and filed right.
Most foreigners pay $1,500 for a visa filing that should cost $400 in legal work. We charge what the work actually costs and we do not disappear after the visa is stamped.
The visa is the easy part. So why do most companies charge like it is hard?
Colombian visa filings are mostly paperwork. The Cancillería runs an online portal, the document requirements are public, the categories are well-defined, and an experienced immigration paralegal can prepare a clean Migrante M file in three to four hours of work. The reason most foreigners pay $1,500-2,500 is not because it is hard. It is because most relocation companies bundle the visa into a service no one else is doing, then disappear once the stamp arrives.
The honest version: a Colombian visa filing through us costs $750 USD flat, plus government filing fees paid directly to the Cancillería. That is the visa. That is not the move. The move is the ninety days after: bank account, cédula appointment, EPS enrollment, lease, utilities, school waitlist, and the things visa mills do not do because visa mills are paperwork operations, not concierge teams.
The visa pathway that fits you depends on your situation: Migrante M for partners, parents, and certain employment cases; Pensionado for pension and social security income; Digital Nomad for remote workers earning from non-Colombian sources; Investor for qualifying real estate or business investments. If your case is borderline, we will tell you whether your file is straightforward or whether a Colombian immigration attorney is the right call.
What a visa filing with us includes
- Match you to the right visa pathway
Most foreigners arrive thinking they want a Migrante M because they read about it on a forum. Some qualify cleanly; others are better off on a different pathway entirely. We run the discovery call before accepting the engagement and tell you which visa is yours, even if it is not the one you came in asking about.
- Coordinate every apostille and translation
Apostilles take two to four weeks for US documents and longer for some countries; certified Spanish translations take another five to ten business days. We sequence these so they finish in parallel, not in series, and catch document-source issues on day one.
- File the application and track it through
The filing happens through the Cancillería online portal. We submit, monitor, and respond within 48 hours if the Cancillería requests more documents. Visa mills often miss response windows and files get archived. We do not let that happen.
- Walk you through the cédula on arrival
A Colombian visa is only useful once it becomes a cédula de extranjería, the ID that unlocks banking, healthcare, and property purchase. We schedule the appointment before you land, prep the document package, and send a team member with you to Migración Colombia.
How a visa engagement runs
- 01Day 1Discovery + visa match
A 45-minute call. We map your situation against all four visa pathways, identify the strongest fit, and flag complications. If the case belongs with a Colombian immigration attorney, we say that before you pay us.
- 02Week 1-4Documents + apostille
We send a custom checklist based on your visa pathway and country of origin. You gather originals, we coordinate apostilles, and certified Spanish translations happen in parallel. Most files are document-complete in three to four weeks.
- 03Week 5-8Filing + review
We submit through the Cancillería portal. Standard review is fifteen to thirty business days. If additional documents are requested, we respond within 48 hours. Approval comes back as a digital visa stamp tied to your passport.
- 04Week 9-12Arrival + cédula
You enter Colombia within ninety days of issuance. We schedule the cédula appointment for the week after arrival, prep the package, and walk in with you. The card itself usually arrives in five to fifteen business days.
The questions we get most
Don't see your question? WhatsApp us - we keep this list updated from the questions you actually ask.
Where the visa hands off.

Settlement is the other eleven weeks.
The visa is week one of a ninety-day project. Settlement Services is what runs the rest: bank account, EPS healthcare enrollment, school placements, lease signing, utility transfers, and the lived experience of becoming a Medellín resident.
Investor path? Coordinate the buy.
If your visa pathway is Investor, the qualifying investment is usually a property purchase. Properties coordinates the buy, the central bank registration that makes the investment count for the visa, and the closing in lockstep with Relocate.
Talk to us before you pay any visa company a deposit.
A 45-minute discovery call, free, no commitment. We will tell you which pathway fits, what documents you need, and roughly when you could be in Colombia with a cédula in hand. If your case needs a Colombian immigration attorney instead of a concierge filing team, we will say so.
